"The road to Kalbajar region will be built by crossing the Ganja-Toganali road through Omar pass. Construction of the road will begin next month," the chairman of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA) Saleh Mammadov said at a briefing on the work done in 2020 and the tasks ahead.
"We will use this road until we can live with our enemy neighbor. Thus we can use the old Kalbajar way only through peacekeepers. The design of the new road has been underway for two months. A Turkish company was also involved in this work. The road will be built per the first technical category, without climbing the top of Omar. It will be a tunnel with a length of up to 12 km. However, it can be less after design," he noted.
