Cargo transportation on Azerbaijani section of TRACECA up 23%

In January-August this year, the volume of cargo transported on the Azerbaijani section of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 33,290,500 tons, and the cargo turnover was 8,332.8 million tkm, 22.65%, and 30%, respectively, more than in the same period last year, Report informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Some 17.895 million tons or 53.7% of the cargo were transported by road, 10.975 million tons, or 33% - by rail, and 4.419.3 million tons, or 13.3% - by sea. Transit cargo accounted for 27.4% or 9.129 million tons of cargo transported along the corridor.
