Bridge on Azerbaijan-Iran border to be commissioned in early 2026

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzana Sadiq jointly inspected the Aghband Bridge and the construction of the Horadiz-Aghband railway, Report informs, citing the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.

During the visit, plans were reviewed to put the Aghband Bridge into operation in early 2026 and facilitate its operation.

"It was decided that the construction of the border bridge should be completed by November of this year and be ready for opening. At the same time, it was agreed to take the necessary measures for the temporary operation of the border terminal located in Iranian territory and to put the terminal into full operation by 2026. In addition, it is planned to restore the movement of both trucks and passenger cars by the end of this year," the agency said.
