Baku Port sees nearly 9% increase in cargo handling

In the first quarter of 2025, the Port of Baku handled over 1.9 million tons of cargo, marking an 8.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY).
Moreover, 30,034 TEU containers were handled during this period—an increase of 16,754 TEU, or 126%, from the 13,280 TEU handled in the first quarter of 2024.
Additionally, the port facilitated the handling of 13,711 units of wheeled equipment, 7,765 wagons, 366,000 tons of dry cargo, and 377,000 tons of oil and oil products in the first quarter of 2025.
