The Trump Route to International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) and the Middle Corridor could attract not only Norway, but also other Northern European countries with open, export-oriented economies, Zaur Ahmadov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway, said in an article published by the Norwegian outlet Utrop, Report informs.
The diplomat emphasized that TRIPP would serve as a key component of the broader Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor), connecting Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and China while bypassing zones of geopolitical instability.
“For Norway and other Nordic countries, as open, export-driven economies, this is more than a distant geopolitical initiative. TRIPP and the Middle Corridor could offer a safer and faster flow of goods, as well as strengthened trade ties with a region strategically located between Europe and Asia,” Ahmadov wrote.
He also noted that stability in the South Caucasus supports predictability in the energy market and global supply chains, which would benefit companies and consumers in Northern Europe. “Norway has a long-standing tradition of promoting peace, reconciliation, and international cooperation. That experience, combined with the Nordic model of regional integration, could serve as inspiration for the South Caucasus,” the ambassador added.
