Azerbaijan Railways: Passenger transportation increased by over 16%

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) transported 2,979,167 passengers in January-April 2025, Report informs, citing ADY.

This figure marks an increase of 412,949 passengers or 16.1% from the same period of 2024.

During this period, 2,820,738 passengers were transported by trains on the Absheron circular route, 373,168 passengers or 15.2% more than in the same period of 2024.

In January-April, 123,890 passengers were transported on the Baku-Aghstafa-Baku route, which is 18,849 passengers or 18.1% more than in the same period of the previous year.

In the first four months of this year, 11,909 passengers were transported on the Baku-Gabala-Baku route, which is 2,499 passengers or 17.3% less than in the first four months of 2024.

In particular, the number of foreign tourists who traveled by train this year increased by 2,035 passengers or 33% to 8,281 people.

During the reporting period, 23,431 passengers were transported on the Baku-Balakan-Baku route.
