Azerbaijan, Iran plan to build Aghband-Salam Malik railway

Project documents for the reconstruction of railways in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are in the preparation stage, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Rovshan Rustamov, told journalists, Report informs.

He noted that the construction of the railway in the direction of Horadiz-Aghband is currently being carried out at an accelerated pace: "The main purpose of our recent visit to Iran was to discuss the project of constructing the Aghband (Azerbaijan) - Salam Malik (Iran) railway line. It is safe to say that the most suitable and optimal route has already been agreed upon, and final negotiations are underway on where the bridges, among other things, will be located."
