Azerbaijan, Iran agree on schedule for joint use of Araz River resources

Azerbaijan and Iran have agreed on a schedule for the distribution of water and energy resources of the Araz River for the joint use and signed a corresponding protocol, Report informs referring to the United Water Supply Service of Large Cities under the Azerbaijan Water Resources Agency (AWRA).

The document was signed in Baku at the 54th meeting of the permanent Joint Commission of Azerbaijan and Iran on the Use of Water and Energy Resources of the Araz River.

At the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of issues. In particular, the operating mode of the Araz reservoir and the distribution of water between the two countries were determined.

Representatives of AWRA, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and Azerenergy OJSC took part in the meeting.
