AYNA: Gross contracts in public transport will develop fare payment system

The gross contract model in public transport will create an opportunity for the development of the fare payment system, stated Huseyn Abdullayev, Head of the Strategic Planning Department of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, Azerbaijan is currently planning to implement a new fare payment system, as well as improve the integration of various types of public transport.
"We are also developing a new financing and contracting system for buses, as previously they operated solely on fare revenue. We are now at the final stage of developing a gross contract model for buses," he said.
