ANAMA: Mine clearance is foundation of reconstruction and recovery

Mine clearance is not only a humanitarian activity that saves lives but also the fundamental basis of reconstruction and recovery, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), said during the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
Suleymanov noted that this activity creates the necessary conditions for rebuilding residential houses, restoring infrastructure, reviving agriculture, developing transport networks, and revitalizing economic activity.
"Within the framework of the Great Return Program, mine clearance activities have been fully integrated into urban planning, reconstruction, and development processes," he added.
