Dutch companies are showing increasing interest in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR or Middle Corridor), Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Pauline Eizema told Report.
The ambassador noted that several Dutch logistics companies are currently actively working in Azerbaijan: “But we are confident that interest in this area will increase further and new opportunities will open up.”
She noted that after the Russia-Ukraine war, the northern route is less used, and the sea route is very long and inconvenient: “Therefore, the Middle Corridor is a very good alternative, but the corridor needs to be developed. Western countries better understand the importance of Azerbaijan on this route.”
The Middle Corridor connects China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Europe.
