AIIB preparing to issue loan to Baku Metro

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) plans to provide a loan to Baku Metro JSC, Report informs referring to the company.

The loan is intended for the implementation of metro expansion activities carried out in accordance with the State Program for improving the transport infrastructure of Baku and adjacent territories for 2025-2030, approved by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev.

At the first stage of the project, special importance is given to completing the construction of the Darnagul and Khojasan electric depots.

AIIB plans to provide financing for technical assistance and support for the implementation of these activities.

The allocated funds will be directed to the procurement of goods, execution of works, and provision of services.

In accordance with the legislation, an international open tender will be conducted, following which the winner will be determined and the corresponding contract will be signed.
