ADY to resume passenger train services on Khirdalan-Sumgayit line

Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) plans to resume passenger train services on the Khirdalan-Sumgayit line before the start of the new academic year.

Report informs, citing ADY, that the move is part of the implementation of the State Program on Improving Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Adjacent Areas for 2025–2030.

Construction of a new road underpass beneath the railway tracks on the Khirdalan-Guzdak section has been completed, while preparations are underway to restore passenger rail services in the area.

An inspection of the railway infrastructure along the Khirdalan-Sumgayit section is currently being carried out. Repair work is also continuing on rolling stock that will operate on the route.

Following the completion of all necessary work, train services to Sumgayit via the Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgayit route will resume before the beginning of the new academic year.

The trains will operate daily on a regular schedule.
