SOCAR Polymer project high density polyethylene production volume revealed

As of February 1, 2025, the production volume at the High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plant, built as part of the SOCAR Polymer project, amounted to 337,000 tons, Report informs referring to SOCAR.

By this date, the plant's export production reached 310,000 tons.

"The enterprise makes a significant contribution to the diversification of Azerbaijan's economy, growth of non-oil exports, reduction of import dependency, and development of small and medium-sized businesses," the statement says.

SOCAR Polymer was established on July 16, 2013, to promote the development of the country's chemical industry. The company's production facilities, including polypropylene and high-density polyethylene plants, are located in the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).

The plants, with production capacities of 184,000 and 120,000 tons per year respectively, were commissioned in July 2018 and February 2019.
