Production in Azerbaijan’s Neftchala Industrial District quadruples

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan’s Neftchala Industrial District produced goods worth 19 million manats ($11.2 million), marking a 4-fold increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under the Ministry of Economy.

Six business entities with a combined investment portfolio exceeding 63 million manats (just over $37 million) have been granted residency in the zone, five of which are currently operational. To date, entrepreneurs have invested nearly 50 million manats (just over $29.4 million) in various projects, creating over 300 permanent jobs.

The Neftchala Industrial District plays a vital role in improving Azerbaijan’s investment climate, generating new jobs, and boosting the production and export of non-oil industrial goods. So far, resident companies have sold products worth 230 million manats (approximately $135.3 million), with 1.8 million manats (nearly $1.06 million) attributed to exports.

Established by Presidential Decree on February 2, 2015, the Neftchala Industrial District officially began operations on September 24, 2017. Its core sectors include fisheries, food processing, automotive manufacturing, and animal feed production.

A favorable investment environment has been created to support entrepreneurial activity in the zone. Residents benefit from ready-to-use infrastructure funded by the state, as well as access to existing construction facilities. Additionally, industrial zone residents who obtain an incentive certificate from the Ministry of Economy are eligible for various tax and customs exemptions for a period of seven years.
