Russian athletes gave bribe for doping cover-up

Baku. 25 November. REPORT.AZ/ Six Russian athletes are suspected of bribing officials of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) for concealing positive doping samples.
Report informs citing the RIA Novosti, the athletes gave 300,000-700,000 EUR.
The Paris Prosecutor’s Office has opened a probe into the suspicions of financial fraud at the IAAF.
The athletes are Liliya Shobukhova, Valeriy Borchin, Olga Kaniskina, Vladimir Kanaykin, Sergey Kirdyapkin, Yuliya Zaripova. Suspicions exist regarding the athletes’ possible blackmailing by the IAAF.
Notably, about 23 athletes are mentioned in the probe.
