Nabi Isgandarov opens World Boxing Cup in Brazil with victory

The 2026 World Boxing Cup has begun in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

According to Report, Azerbaijan's national team member Nabi Isgandarov started the ranking tournament with a win.

Competing in the 70 kg weight category, Isgandarov faced Turkish boxer Necat Ekinci in his opening bout. In a tense match, he defeated his opponent 3:2 (30:27, 28:29, 30:27, 28:29, 29:28).

Isgandarov will meet Tajikistan's Murodjon Ashuraliev in the round of 16 on April 22.

The World Boxing Cup will conclude on April 26.
