Georgian female judoka offered to Azerbaijani team

Baku. 6 January. REPORT.AZ/ Russian female judoka Kseniya Tugushi was offered to the Azerbaijani team.

Report was informed by the Azerbaijani origin coach Elman Gurbanov, who is responsible for development of judo in NorthWestern Federal District of Russia.

He said that talks are underway for transfer of the 23-year-old athlete: "Tugushi is ethnic Georgian, she is a twice bronze medalist of the Russian championship at 48 kg weight category, silver and bronze winner of the Russian Youths Cup also, took part in the European Cup. I know that there is a lack of female judokas in Azerbaijan. I offered my student Kseniya for the team to do the best for my country. Currently, talks are underway with Azerbaijan Judo Federation".

Notably, Elman Gurbanov is on visit to Baku to attend a seminar of the International Judo Federation for referees and coaches.
