Azerbaijani weightlifter wins Uzbekistan Open tournament

Azerbaijani weightlifter Kamran Khappayev has secured victory at the Uzbekistan Open tournament, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation.

The young athlete claimed the top spot on the podium at the competition held in Chirchik, Uzbekistan.

Competing in the 61 kg weight category, Khappayev dominated the event, lifting 103 kg in the snatch to take first place. He replicated this success in the clean and jerk, successfully lifting 123 kg.

With a combined total of 226 kg, Khappayev was crowned the tournament winner.

Notably, Azerbaijani athletes Isa Aliyev and Malika Bichekuyeva are set to compete on April 9, while Aslan Amiraslanov will enter the competition on April 11.
