Azad Rahimov: Azerbaijan opened its doors to thousands of tourists

Baku. 13 February. REPORT.AZ/ "After Azerbaijan has gained independence, a number of large-scale events were held in the country, such as Baku 2015 the First European Games, Baku 2017 the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the World Chess Olympiad.

Report informs, the Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said at today's conference titled "Advantages of holding Olympic sports competitions to the country " at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.

Minister said that when talking about competitions, it is important to mention their heritage: “This heritage includes the Baku Olympic Stadium, the National Gymnastics Arena and etc. We must not forget the human factor. The volunteers team has contributed to major competitions. Azerbaijan has opened doors to thousands of tourists. They come to Azerbaijan not only for races, but also for a number of holidays. Campaign through sports is very important for us”.
