About 200 Russian athletes suspected of doping

Baku. 4 January. REPORT.AZ/ The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has received about 200 names of Russian athletes suspected of violating anti-doping rules.

The IAAF was sent the names of about 200 Russians by the Independent Commission WADA under the leadership of Richard McLaren. On the basis of information and evidence from the report of McLaren, as well as other information will be taken when considering applications athletes who wish to gain access to international competitions as a neutral.

Notably, in November 2015, the All-Russia Athletics Federation was removed from the IAAF. It occurred after Independent Commission WADA accused Russia of numerous violations. Therefore, other Russian athletes, except long jumper Darya Klishina, were not allowed to participate in Rio 2016 Olympics and remained outside international tournaments for a year.
