The right to freedom of opinion and expression must not be accompanied by unlawful interference in others' private lives, Sanan Hajiyev, Chair of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, said at the forum on "Public Processes in the Media Space" forum held in Baku, according to Report.
Hajiyev said that when disseminating information related to criminal cases, the presumption of innocence must be upheld.
"It is also important to prevent the formation of misleading public opinion, which could place undue pressure on judges and hinder the delivery of lawful rulings based on their internal convictions," Hajiyev emphasized.
