During the trial at the Baku Military Court on March 14, defendant Bako Sahakyan responded to questions regarding the presence of Iskander M, Tochka U, and other destructive weapons in the occupied territories, according to Report.
Sahakyan denied the presence of these weapons, stating, "These weapons did not exist in the territory of Karabakh. I can say with certainty that during my tenure as 'President' (2007-2020), these weapons were not brought to Karabakh."
He further explained, "Although the 'head' of the 'defense agencies' is not obliged to report to the 'president' of the so-called regime, considering the significance of these weapons, if they had been provided to us, the 'army commander' should have informed me about it."
Sahakyan did not offer any information regarding the shelling of civilian facilities in Azerbaijan using the mentioned weapons, nor did he explain who had issued the orders for the shellings.
The trial continues for Armenian citizens who are charged with crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes—including orchestrating and conducting an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, forcible seizure and retention of power, and numerous other crimes related to Armenia's military aggression.
