Five people on international wanted list extradited to Azerbaijan

Five people wanted internationally have been extradited to Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General's Office said, Report informs.

Under the requirements of the Convention 'On legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal cases' dated 22.01.1993, the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia granted the requests of the General Prosecutor's Office on the extradition of citizens of Azerbaijan Azizov Aydin Ajdar, Asgarov Mirsadig Rakif, Bagirov Farid Umudvar, Hasanov Punhan Jamal, and Yusifov Taleh Rashid.

Due to reasonable suspicions that those persons had committed the criminal acts provided for in the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, a decision was made to bring them in as accused persons, and they were put on an international wanted list because they escaped the investigation and went into hiding.

On December 21 of this year, the above persons were brought from Russia to Azerbaijan, accompanied by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
