Community chairman: 'We will return to Western Azerbaijan too'

The Khojaly people were avenged during the 44-day Patriotic War and later during the anti-terrorist operations, Aziz Alakbarli, the Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community and a member of the Milli Majlis, told journalists.

Report quotes Alakbarli as saying the internally displaced persons from Khojaly have returned to their ancestral lands:

"No doubt that the 200-year-old strategy created by the Armenians has been destroyed. We will return to Western Azerbaijan too. This is our historical and fundamental right. No one can prevent this. Our ancestors have a cultural heritage there. Over the past 36 years, we have not been able to put the issue of Western Azerbaijan on the world agenda. But the official document of the West Azerbaijan Community has already been circulated among the states that are UN members. Some circles should abandon their double standards and recognize the right of return to Western Azerbaijan."
