Azerbaijani victim: Armenian army brutally murdered family of five

In September-October 1991, the Armenian Armed Forces attacked the village of Bash Guneypaya in Azerbaijan's Aghdara region four times, as a result of which World War II veteran Goshun Abdullayev, born in 1910, Hamza Alakbarov, and other village residents were killed, the victim Karim Novruzov said at today's session of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, Report informs.

He noted that the last large-scale attacks by the Armenian army took place on March 12, 1992.

"They attacked five villages in the Aghdara district, including our village of Bash Guneypaya. They surrounded the entire village and opened fire from tanks and heavy artillery. They were armed with machine guns, sniper rifles, and assault rifles. My father died heroically on March 12, 1992, along with his comrades-in-arms, saving civilians from the massacre. In addition to my father, my brother, two uncles, other relatives, and my childhood friend were killed in that battle. Although negotiations were held through the mediation of Vitaly Balasanyan, they refused to hand over the bodies of my father and the other victims. The whereabouts of their bodies are still unknown," Novruzov said.

The victim added that the Armenian military also brutally killed a family of five.
