WhatsApp has updated the disappearing messages function. Now messages in new chats will automatically disappear after a certain period, which is set by the user of the messenger.
Report informs that in the settings you can choose the disappearance of messages after 24 hours, a week, or 90 days.
The innovation will not affect the already existing, as well as group chats. However, the user can manually enable the function.
To configure or disable automatic disappearing messages on Android and iOS, one needs to go to the messenger, go to the "Settings" menu, then to "Account", "Privacy", and then to the "Disappearing messages" section.
The disappearing messages feature appeared in the messenger last year. Then it had to be turned on manually in each separate chat.
