The Israeli company Spacecom will benefit from the capabilities of Azerspace satellites to expand its service geography, especially in the African region, to implement projects on providing satellite services and mobile communications, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos).

Azercosmos and the Spacecom satellite operator have today signed a cooperation agreement on the joint implementation of long-term projects in this regard.

As reported, Spacecom, the operator of AMOS telecommunication satellites, operates in the Middle East, Europe and North America. Having high throughput satellites, Spacecom will serve its customers using teleport services located at the Azercosmos' Main Ground Control Station.

“Our cooperation is the beginning of the path to joint development between Azercosmos and Spacecom. We will increase the number of customers in Europe, Africa and Asia through AMOS satellites,” Azercosmos’ Deputy Chairman Fuad Aslanov said.

"Our use of telecommunication and teleport services of Azercosmos is an important step for the development of our joint space activities. Azerspace satellites are among the most dynamic satellites in the African market and will provide quality services in digital broadcasting,” said Yon Rosenberg, Spacecom's Chief Revenue Officer.
