COVID-19 pandemic caused an increase in cybercrime.
Report informs citing RIA Novosti that Francis Gurry, Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), said that startups and freelancers in creative fields are sensitive.
‘Yes. We are concerned. Although we don’t have special information, the level of cybercrime is increasing. Some people earn from the current situation. Because everybody is now carrying our online shopping. This is a problem for the world,’ he said. He also named industrial spying and unfair competition among the criminal activities. According to him, obeying the rule for healthy competition attaches special importance.
