Azercosmos launches satellite communication services in Mediterranean Sea

Another cooperation agreement has been signed between the Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan and the Swiss company Signalhorn, Report informs referring to Azercosmos.

According to the contract, Signalhorn began to provide internet services in the Mediterranean Sea via the Azerspace-1 satellite. Azerspace-1 satellite resources are transferred from a teleport owned by Signalhorn directly to cruise ships in the Mediterranean.

Azercosmos continues to improve the capabilities of broadband communications in the sea, which is one of the main segments of the global satellite communications market. Currently, Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2 satellites is providing reliable and stable internet services for vessels sailing in the Caspian, Black and Azov Seas, the Persian Gulf, the Volga River and the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
