The beginning of the third wave of COVID pandemic will depend on how people will behave, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia Melita Vujnovic said on the air of the Rossiya 1 channel, Report informs.
"There is still no sufficient herd immunity, there is no barrier yet. If we are not careful, the third wave is possible," Vujnovic explained.
However, she provided no forecast of when the coronavirus pandemic will end.
She noted that this could be achieved when the number of cases simultaneously in all regions of the world will drop to a level below the epidemiological threshold, and the burden on the healthcare system in connection with the coronavirus won’t interfere with its regular operation.
