Azerbaijan has purchased vaccines against COVID-19 in sufficient quantity and the vaccination of the population continues, Report informs, quoting Azerbaijani acting Health Minister Teymur Musayev telling a panel session within the framework of the VIII Global Baku Forum.
Teymur Musayev noted that 60 percent of the population over 18 years old have already been vaccinated in the country.
"Azerbaijan has been one of the first countries to join the vaccination campaign," Teymur Musayev added.
From the onset of the pandemic, Azerbaijan has taken all the necessary measures to combat it - special equipment has been brought in, additional hospitals have been equipped and opened for patients with COVID-19.
At the same time, according to Teymur Musayev, some world countries are faced with a shortage of vaccines.
"The time has come to take measures for an equal distribution of COVID-19 vaccines."
