TABIB: 7.9%-15.1% of population in Azerbaijan suffers from obesity

According to the latest report of the State Statistics Committee, 7.9%-15.1% of the population in Azerbaijan suffers from obesity, Vugar Gurbanov, executive director of TABIB, said at the presentation of the "Towards a Healthy Weight" project.
He said that these numbers cause serious concern in healthcare institutions:
"People suffering from obesity also suffer from other diseases. It is necessary to show solidarity in this matter. Therefore, TABIB is interested and ready to cooperate with many public and private institutions."
