EU donates 380 million doses of vaccines to poor countries through COVAX program

The European Union (EU) provided the world's poorest countries with 380 million doses of coronavirus vaccines through the international COVAX mechanism in 2021, Report informs citing a tweet by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
“We have exceeded our vaccine-sharing target in 2021, with 380 million doses shared. And we will do more - by mid-2022 we have pledged to distribute 700 million doses of vaccines,” her tweet read.
The EU countries are currently accelerating the pre-vaccination of their populations with booster doses of vaccines, the most common are vaccines from the American companies Pfizer and Moderna.
