BioNTech, Pfizer studying new COVID variant

BioNTech and Pfizer said that experts are studying a new variant of coronavirus discovered in South Africa, more information is expected in two weeks, Report informs.
“We expect more laboratory data in two weeks at the latest,” BioNTech spokesman said, according to Agence France-Presse.
The company stressed that the data will help to understand whether the variant of coronavirus B.1.1.529 could “require a vaccine adjustment” by Pfizer/BioNTech in the event that it spreads worldwide.
