Azerbaijan developing new state program on food safety

Azerbaijan has begun work on developing a new State Program aimed at ensuring food safety, Aziz Sharifov, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA), said at a press conference summarizing the results of 2025.
According to Report, he noted that monitoring of the State Program on Food Safety for 2019–2025 showed an implementation rate of 92%.
"Currently, a new State Program for the next period is already in preparation. The draft law 'On Plant Health' has been developed and is currently under approval, while the draft law 'On Animal Health' has been finalized and passed legal review. Additionally, amendments have been made to the existing regulatory framework in the field of food safety, and around 10 new sanitary norms and rules have been introduced," he said.
