Zakharova: Moscow exploring new opportunities for co-op in 3+3 format

Russia is exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation with countries in the region within the 3+3 regional interaction platform, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, responding to Report's question about the possibility of transforming the 3+3 platform into a regional organization.

She noted that this issue was discussed at the meeting of foreign ministers held on October 18 in Istanbul.

"Taking into account the results of this meeting, the Turkish side, which currently chairs this format, is carrying out the necessary work in cooperation with other participants. At this stage, Türkiye is coordinating the process," Zakharova noted.

The 3+3 format includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Türkiye, Iran, and Georgia. Currently, five countries are involved, as Georgia does not participate in the platform's activities. The platform's goal is to strengthen regional cooperation and facilitate solutions to common challenges.
