Yushchenko: Ukraine needs peace like no one else, but there are conditions

Ukraine needs peace more than anyone else, but the key condition is that peace should not break the Ukrainian people, Kateryna Yushchenko, the wife of the third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, said at a panel discussion at the XII Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

She emphasized that even if the government agrees to unacceptable conditions, the people of Ukraine will be against it.

"The Ukrainian people are known for their commitment to democracy. Even if President [of Ukraine Volodymyr] Zelenskyy makes certain compromises that don't suit us, we will fight to the end," Yushchenko said.

According to her, peace is only possible while preserving Ukraine's territorial integrity, independence, and national identity.
