Vladanka Andreeva: Forum in Azerbaijan will help civil society be heard

The forum of Global South NGO countries will help civil society make its voice heard, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Vladanka Andreeva, told journalists during the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform, held in Baku, according to Report.

"It is a great honor for me to be present today at the opening of the Global South NGO Forum, which has just been established in Baku. As the UN, we closely cooperate with civil society and all stakeholders to ensure the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. That is why it is critically important that the voices of civil society are heard, that they have space to work together with various partners, and a place at the negotiation table. Today's forum will certainly contribute to this," Andreeva said.

She also expressed hope for the success of the two-day discussions in Baku, adding: "I truly hope, as some participants said this morning, that the discussions will be conducted in the language of solidarity, because only through solidarity and shared responsibility can we ensure that no one is left behind."
