For three years, the Baku City Executive Power has been implementing a project with the British company Mott MacDonald on modern management of collection, transportation, and sorting of solid waste,
The project, initially launched as a pilot project in the Narimanov district, later gradually covered three more districts of the capital - Nizami, Nasimi, and Yasamal districts. As a result of promotion and awareness-raising activities with residents, positive results have been achieved in four districts where the project is implemented. The achievements allow other districts of the capital to join this project gradually.
The implementation of the project has been under the control of the Baku City Executive Power since the first days. In addition, Mott MacDonald's management and representatives oversee the waste composition and sorting levels at the specially established solid waste management monitoring center of the Executive Power.
