Turkmenistan's president: It is necessary to develop new mechanisms in the fight against terrorism

New geopolitical alignments have appeared in the world, which in turn requires new approach and decision making, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at the XVIII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku, Report informs

"Today, a consolidated effort is needed to maintain strategic stability and security. We believe that together we are able to create tools to counter these threats”, - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

According to him, the development of mechanisms to fight terrorism and solve problems with refugees is also extremely important, most of them are the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement. Berdimuhamedov also noted that all this should be accompanied by close economic cooperation: "Turkmenistan is making great efforts to ensure global energy security."

In addition, he noted the need to preserve the ecological environment of the Caspian Sea.
