The second summit of the European Political Community is a clear expression of unity, strength and determination to act together as a single family, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said at the opening of the 2nd summit of the European Political Community, according to Report.
"Over the next few hours, we plan to have a strategic conversation on how to strengthen the security of our continent and address the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. We will also look for ways to address the energy and climate crises," she said.
According to the Moldovan leader, the resolution of these issues is of utmost importance.
"We all need to accelerate the energy transition, diversify our energy supplies," she said, adding that stakes are too high for Europe if no action is taken.
Sandu noted that in the current conditions, European solidarity is more important than ever.
"We cannot accept that principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity do not matter anymore," she said, stressing the need to work together to build a stronger Europe.
"We can do so much more together," she said.
