Baku. 26 February. REPORT.AZ/ "We need to work to ensure that the events in Khojaly are recognized as genocide in Russia," First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Dmitry Savelyev said.
"Events in Khojaly are a monstrous crime. Innocent elderly people, women, children were killed. Children died, which means their children, the children of their children died. Part of the future of Azerbaijan was murdered, " Savelyev said.
According to him, today processes are underway in the world for the recognition of this terrible crime.
"We believe that in Russia it is necessary to work for recognition of this massacre, this tragedy, as genocide. We all perceive this tragedy as a personal tragedy. We all need to work on its recognition," the MP said.
