Azerbaijan pays great attention to the development of the Russian language, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Sochi.
Report informs that Putin thanked his Azerbaijani counterpart for the attention paid to developing the Russian language.
"34% of Azerbaijani schoolchildren study in Russian or study the Russian language in one way or another. This is a good indicator, which speaks of the desire of the leadership of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people to maintain close and diversified contacts," the Russian president said.
