Pezeshkian thanks Aliyev for support amid Iran's difficult situation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the support he demonstrated amid the difficult situation facing Iran, Report informs.

He made the remarks during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on August 31.

Pezeshkian fondly recalled his meetings and phone conversations with the Azerbaijani president and emphasized that President Aliyev's position, the support he had shown, his condolences, as well as the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan during this difficult period were highly appreciated by the Iranian state and people.

He once again expressed gratitude for all of this.

The Iranian president said there were very good opportunities to develop ties and noted that Iran was interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan in all areas.

Pezeshkian stressed that relations between the two countries are based on brotherhood and friendship, adding that Iran intends to maintain good relations with all neighboring countries.
