Over 1.5 million citizens of Russia, Ukraine arrive in Azerbaijan since start of war

From March 2022 to July this year, 1.535 million citizens of Russia and Ukraine arrived in Azerbaijan, the State Statistics Committee told Report.
The committee noted that in March-December 2022, 397,005 people arrived in Azerbaijan from Russia, and 24,609 from Ukraine.
Last year, there was a sharp increase in the number of people arriving in Azerbaijan from Russia. Thus, the number of Russian citizens arriving in the country increased by more than 200,000 and reached 624,753 people.
Last year, 31,267 citizens of Ukraine arrived in Azerbaijan. In January-July of this year, 438,066 citizens of Russia and 20,189 citizens of Ukraine entered Azerbaijan.
