OTS countries begin consultations on free trade agreement in services

Member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) plan to sign a free trade agreement on services, OTS Deputy Secretary General Omer Kocaman said in an interview with Report.

He noted that the work in this direction has already begun, and consultations are being held between officials.

Issues in the areas of transport, digitalization, space industry, energy, and critical raw materials are being discussed, he added.

"In May-June of this year, a meeting of energy ministers of the OTS countries will be held in Türkiye, where issues of clean energy and critical raw materials will be discussed. These topics play an important role in world politics and interstate relations, especially considering the presence of a large amount of critical raw materials in the OTS member countries," he noted.

In addition, raw materials supplied by OTS member countries will have a significant impact on the development of space technologies and quantum research, he said. Kocaman added that the meeting of energy ministers will also discuss issues of accelerating the work of working groups.
