The opening of the Azerbaijani neighborhood in Kahramanmaras is scheduled for June 19, Shamil Ayrim, head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, told Report's Turkish bureau.
He reminded that after the devastating earthquake that struck Kahramanmaras on February 6, 2023, all efforts were mobilized to aid brotherly Türkiye upon President Ilham Aliyev's instructions.
"Azerbaijan undertook the reconstruction of the destroyed neighborhood. Therefore, it has become a symbol of growing friendship and solidarity between the two brotherly countries," he said.
Ayrim stressed that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
