MP from Sint Maarten: Peoples suffering from colonial oppression have right to self-determination

The Parliament of Sint Maarten thanks the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) for organizing an international conference on French and Dutch neo-colonialism, Franklin Meyers, a member of the Sint Maarten Parliament, said at a conference in Baku on "French and Dutch colonialism in Sint Maarten - one island, one people, one destiny."
"This conference is an important step in the right direction because freedom is a fundamental right of all people," he said.
Meyers noted that peoples suffering from colonial oppression have the right to self-determination. He thanked BIG for its contribution to the abolition of colonialism worldwide.
