Montenegro has approved Azerbaijan's request for the extradition of its citizen, Hidayat Suleymanov, who was wanted through Interpol.
According to Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office, cited by Report, the High Court in Podgorica issued a decision to transfer Suleymanov to Azerbaijan under a simplified extradition procedure.
Suleymanov is accused of fraud in a criminal case investigated by the police department of Sumgayit city. He fled the investigation and was subsequently placed on international wanted lists through Interpol. He was later detained in Montenegro.
The Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice is currently taking steps to ensure his transfer to the country.
